Slow Extraction Workshop 2024

From February 11-14, 2024, MedAustron hosted the 5th Slow Extraction Workshop, marking another successful collaboration between leading institutions in the field of particle therapy.

The workshop, organized in cooperation with the GSI and supported by the EU project iFast, brought together experts and researchers from around the world to discuss advances and challenges in the field of slow extraction. This year’s workshop was highly attended with a record number of contributions and an impressive number of 60 participants from different parts of the world. The Technology and Research Center (TFZ) next to MedAustron provided a modern and conducive environment for fruitful discussions, networking opportunities and the exchange of groundbreaking ideas.

During the event, participants were treated to a variety of presentations, discussions and poster sessions highlighting the latest advances and challenges in the field of slow extraction. Around 20 poster contributions adorned the workshop venue, providing a platform for participants to present their groundbreaking findings and encourage collaborative interactions.
