MedAustron Ion Therapy Center awarded Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation from the Joint Commission
The Joint Commission International (JCI) accredits health care organizations across the world. MedAustron has recently earned the JCI’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
By completing the accreditation program, hospitals commit to meeting quality standards that ensure the health and safety of patients, families, employees and third parties. The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare professionals, providers and patients. They draw on the scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, evaluate, and improve their performance. The topics covered by the standards are very broad: in addition to the central area of international patient safety goals, the areas range from patient and family education to staff qualifications and training to facility management issues.
In order to obtain the Golden Seal, JCI assessors conducted a multi-day review at MedAustron to assess internal processes, their corresponding documentation and training through observations and interviews. MedAustron is the first outpatient clinic and currently the third healthcare facility in Austria to achieve JCI accreditation.
“We are pleased with the successful JCI accreditation of our treatment center. JCI has confirmed in detailed, independent external reviews that we have not only established high quality standards, but that these are also implemented and lived by our employees on a daily basis.”
“I warmly congratulate the MedAustron team on the JCI accreditation. Such an independent, international seal of quality is a special distinction for the therapy center and proof of the high level of care provided to oncology patients.”
