We will provide assistance to help making your life easier around therapy during this challenging time.

Our patient care coordinator team supports you as a patient and your relatives even before the start of therapy in matters such as travel, accommodation or everyday needs. If you do not commute from home to your therapy sessions every day, we will help you to get used to the unfamiliar surroundings and to find your way around quickly. We see our task in assisting you in everyday matters such as transport, shopping facilities or leisure activities. A special program for children and their relatives shall create a bit of breathing space in this stressful situation for the whole family.

Transport

For rides to your treatments at MedAustron, your general practitioner can issue a “Request for transportation cost assumption by a contract transport service.”  Your doctor must specify the exact type, duration and treatment location (MedAustron) of the necessary treatments. For more information, please contact your general practitioner or your health insurance company.

In addition, we work with transportation and rental car companies that offer discounted rates for our patients. If you are travelling by public transport, we will be pleased to help you with tips on planning your journey.

Accommodation

If you are covered by social insurance in Austria and your ion beam therapy has been approved by a chief physician, you will be provided with accommodation near MedAustron, depending on the distance to your place of residence. For more information, please contact our patient care team.

In addition, we work with accommodation partners in the area who offer special rates for our patients. If you need accommodation for the duration of your treatment, you will find private rooms, hotel rooms, apartments and guesthouses in our network adapted to your needs.

Everyday needs

We are pleased to help you with your everyday needs – whether you need timetable information, a pharmacy, hairdresser or shopping facilities, leisure tips or would like to contact associations and aid organizations.

Furthermore, we are at your disposal to help you with the coordination of appointments for therapy-accompanying measures.

MedAustron supporter

With the support of the Vienna Alps. MedAustron supporter network:

MedAustron supporters are (local) companies that support our patients during their therapy at MedAustron. Examples include discounts, free allocation of tickets, free guided tours and special deals. At the beginning of treatment, all patients obtain an overview of all MedAustron supporters.
